Forge Intercooler Mini Cooper S R55 / R56 / R57

The Forge Motorsport development team tested four different air core constructions before selecting the final stuffed fin stepped design intercooler for the 2007 onwards models (R56/R57) BMW Mini Cooper S Turbo. This intercooler is designed to reduce intake air temperature, which increases the density of the charge mixture within the combustion cylinder, resulting in more power. The intercooler is constructed using an 80/40mm high thermal efficiency core, with a 250% larger surface area and a 125% thicker base core, to achieve the best possible results. During testing, this intercooler was able to outperform the OEM unit by 9°C, even at low road speeds/air velocities, with greater improvements achievable during track testing. The replacement intercooler comes with all the necessary mountings for easy installation.
